How to Send Messages on Moodle

If you have any difficulty sending messages using Moodle or simply don't know how, this guide helps you understand the two ways that you can send messages on Moodle.

All you need to complete this guide is your Moodle credentials.

Step 1

Click HERE or type “UNIC moodle” on your browser in order to log in. If you have difficulties logging in please follow this guide : How to Login to Faculty Moodle


Step 2

Now for the first way of messaging, select your course and then Course Forum as shown above.

You can either send a message to ALL your students through the forum Course Forum / Ανακοινώσεις, Διευκρινίσεις & Απορίες and that will give access to ALL students to view it and reply to you. Everything that is posted there can be viewed by all students and any reply you’ll get in the forum, you’ll also get a message on your e-mail


Step 3

For the second way, If you require to send a private message to specific students. Click on Participants that you see on the left list in your course.

This will give you an overview of all the students in your course and some details about them. Use the check boxes on the left to select the students you would like to send a private message.

Under this list of student there is the option of “With selected users…” and a drop down menu. In that menu select “Send a message”.


Step 4

This will automatically open a new page with a box to write your message in as shown above.

You can edit the users(students) you are sending the message to, then click Preview and then Send message. Now the message has been sent to the selected students.
