Increasing File Size Limit

University of Nicosia Distance Learning courses have a default upload limit of 10MB per file. This size limit also applies to the files that your students may upload, such as, their assignments.

In some cases, the 10MB limit is not sufficient so we allow lecturers to increase this limit.

The per file limit can be increased by following the steps below.

  1. Login to Moodle and enter your course.
  2. Locate the Gear icon  on the top right side of the course page and click Edit Settings.
  3. Scroll down until you find the Files and uploads settings. Expand this section. The option to change the Maximum upload size should be available. You can select the most appropriate size for you needs from the dropdown menu (maximum site upload limit is 50MB per file).
  4. Once you have selected a size, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save and display. Your changes should now be applied to all new activities and resources in the course.

In case you need to upload a file that is larger than 50MB you should utilize other service like Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox or Amazon S3 to host your files and use the URL provided in Moodle.

If you would like us to host your files send a request with your files here.
